Denmark is a world class leader in the practice and promotion of sustainable living . With Earth Day approaching, what better time is there for Singapore to learn from their achievements in green living. SPACE and Cubes magazine has challenged 5 design firms in Singapore to study the different elements of the ecological efforts in Denmark and to interpret them to fit the Singapore fabric. WOW was invited to participate and we explored the question: How can transportation and its accompanying infrastructure be sustainable? “Copenhagen’s urban infrastructure makes cycling a safe and attractive choice of transportation; every day, close to 40 per cent of the city’s inhabitants cycle to work or school, which not only contributes to lower levels of noise and air pollution on the roads, but also makes for healthier citizens and a people-friendly city. WAF 2013 Launch Party!
It’s official! The World Architecture Festival will be returning to Singapore this year for its 6th cycle in October. The WOW team members just attended the WAF 2013 launch party held at the Parkroyal on Pickering where Program Director, Paul Finch announced the plans for this year. The event will be even bigger for it’s second time in Singapore with INSIDE, the festival and awards program for interiors, joining WAF. Like the WAF Awards, the INSIDE Award finalists will present to an international group of designers and key industry figures during the festival for the ultimate prize, World Interior of the Year. Both awards entries are now open!
Worldbex Manila 2013
Wong Chiu Man will be a guest speakers at the Worldbex Manila 2013 World Building and Construction Exposition seminars taking place on 14-16 March. He will be presenting on sustainable design through WOW’s hospitality and residential projects located throughout the Asian Region. The list of projects include the upcoming SM Manila Bay which we are presenting for the first time! More than 800 exhibiting companies and 108,000 visitors are expected to take part in the show.
