Shangri-La Edsa,
Paparazzi

Manila, Philippines Italian Restaurant 106 Seats Interior Design 2005-2006

True to its name, Paparazzi was designed to appeal to diners who wish to be captured in an environment enriched with the glamour of Italian design and fashion. The concept is inspired by elements of worldwide trends set by Italian design, especially that of fashion.

The woven entry wall recalls the signature Intrecciato leather weaving techniques that are a staple in the collection of Italian luxury leather goods house Bottega Veneta. A polished, ornamented buffet spread table takes on the shape of a lady’s Prada shoe. Forming a backdrop to the restaurant is a brightly lit array of display cases elevating bottled ingredients and condiments to the level of high-end fashion.

The prevalence of warm colours such as red arouse and invigorate the senses, paving the way for an engaging and stimulating dining experience. The intent is to light-heartedly evoke the excitement of a celebrity lifestyle as dramatised through the media and paparazzi.

A show kitchen entertains a la minute orders of pasta and pizza, and a specialty dessert counter offers a smorgasbord of where gourmet specialty desserts such as the sabayon .
