As a Design Principal, Mak overseas the Architecture and Interior Design of Hospitality, Commercial and Residential Projects. Key contributions include the Rendezvous Hotel Renovation, The Paras Quartier Residential Development in Gurgaon India, Shi Zhi Resort in Sanya, China, the headquarters of Million Lighting in Singapore and Balzac Brasserie.
Early in his career, Mak worked with world renowned architect, Dato Dr. Ken Yeang and gained insight into environmentally sustainable building design. His further pursuit in this field of sustainability was published in a paper on Energy Efficient Underground Tropical Buildings which was presented at the 2007 Conference on Sustainable Building, South East Asia held in Kuala Lumpur. Mak’s research into Seacrete as a sustainable building material was recognized and published in the media.
Mak was the recipient of the Kaufman Scholarship, his talent in the field of design has been recognized with accolades including the Singapore Institute of Architects | Hunter Douglas Design Award, Michael Scott Prize and the a Jury Mention for the Urban Redevelopment Authority 10 Public Spaces.
Prior to joining the WOW Group at WOW D Lab as a Design Principal, Mak founded and Design Directed TOPOS and was an Architectural Associate at Jurong Consultants.
